As a child, I fought off sleep so that could stay up to watch shows like The Midnight Special (Wolfman Jack) and Soul Train hosted by the incomparable Don Cornelius.  All of this just see to the Jackson Five.  I can remember falling asleep before the shows came on and my mom waking me up just in time.  I had many firsts with the group.  My first crush, my first record, my first concert!  My love for the group and its lead singer continued as I grew to adulthood.

My love for the arts & entertainment grew out of my love for the Jacksons.  As a result, I majored in Mass Communication and have worked in various media.  So although I am not a singer or dancer per se, Michael Jackson has been a major influence on my life and career.  So, I find it fitting to dedicate this first issue of Creative Souls Magazine in memory of his life.

Check out some of his personal poetry as well as poetry from our contributors about his life!  Plus, poetry and paintings from Tiffany Pennywell, a recent college graduate who is well on her way to success.
